Hybrid EMR Course: Our hybrid courses allow for students to complete all "book work" online on their own schedule and come in for just skills sessions to learn specific skills and how to "put it all together." This format works very well for individuals who do not have the time to sit in class for an excessive amount of time and/or can learn material in a self-learn format. It is not designed for individuals who need the traditional classroom format of an instructor lecturing, although we do have tools to help that type of learner as well.

CPR certification is a prerequisite. You must be certified in AHA BLS Provider or ASHI Healthcare Pro or ARC CPR Professional Rescuer, covering the 2015 CPR standards. ETA offers CPR courses seperately. Check our schedule for upcoming dates and times. You must present a copy of your CPR certification at class on on July 22nd.
Cost: $650 (Includes printed textbook, stethescope, BP cuff, pocket mask and online access). The eBook, interactive lectures and TestPrep are available for an additional charge for those students who would like to utilize such methods.
Note: This course is a DOH course which qualifies you to obtain NREMT national certification and PA certification as an EMR by successfully completing the PA state EMR practical skills examination and NREMT EMR cognitive exam. Certification exams are administered through the Regional EMS Councils throughout the Commonwealth. The cognitive exam is administered at Pearson Vue testing sites throughout the country. A positive criminal history will not prevent you from taking the course, but may prevent you from obtaining certification. The cost of the cognitive exam is $70. All certification exams are administered by the PA DOH Bureau of EMS and are beyond the control of ETA.
HAZWOPER Certification: As a co-requisite, students must take ICS100, ICS700, and HAZWOPER. All are online and should take approximately 1 hour each. Links to these courses are provided within our online course. The ICS classes are FEMA classes and free of charge. There is a fee of $19.95 for the HAZWOPER course which must be paid directly online in order to print a certificate of course completion. If you have certification from another agency, simply submit a copy of your certification. |
