ACLS/PALS Training

Are you mandated to have ACLS and/or PALS certification? No problem. ETA is available whenever/wherever you need training. At our location or yours, we offer initial and renewal certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. We also offer an online initial/recertification option, whereby you take the course online and simply make arrangements to come in and practice / test your skills. Certification is valid for two years.

ETA is now offering an American Heart Association online ACLS course. This is available for both initial certification and renewal. It's a simple 4 step process:

   1 - Enroll in the course. After we receive payment, we will send you course access information for you to take the class online at your own pace.

   2 - Take the online course.

   3 - Once you are confident with the knowledge component, contact us to schedule a time to practice your skills.

   4 - Take the certification exams.

ACLS

Advanced Cardiac Life Support classes are designed for healthcare providers working in emergency treatment, intensive care or critical care areas, as well as other professionals who may need to respond to a cardiovascular emergency, such as physicians, dental professionals and anyone that uses general anesthesia as a matter of course..

HeartCode™ ACLS Online

Course Description:  An alternative to classroom-based ACLS training, HeartCode™ ACLS Part I is a self-paced, comprehensive eLearning course which includes interactive patient cases that test your’ ability to apply the ACLS algorithms to effect treatment. The full course combines the web-based lessons with advanced CPR skills training.

Course Content:

• Basic life support care

• Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions

• Management of cardiac arrest until return of spontaneous circulation, termination of resuscitation, or transfer of care

• Recognition of life threatening clinical situations such as stroke

• Identification and treatment of ischemic chest pain

• Identification and treatment of  acute coronary syndromes

• Resuscitation team concept communication

To complete the course, students must complete Part II and III skills based portion of the course. Once you have finished the onine portion of the course.

Certification: An American Heart Association ACLS Provider Course Completion Card, valid for a period of two years, will be issued after completing the online course and successfully completing practice skills and a skills test. The skills practice and test can be completed at our location or yours.

Course Cost: $200 Includes the cost for Part I - the online course, Part 2 - skills practice, and Part 3 - the certification exam.

Continuing Education Credits: This course is approved for 12 continuing education credits (trauma/medical)

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Classroom

Course Description: This course allows providers will enhance their skills in treating adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies through the use of simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation in learning stations where students practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader. The course emphasizes the following:

• importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival
• integration of effective basic life support with ACLS interventions
• importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation

Course Content: The course will cover the following information:

• 1-rescuer CPR, AED
• Defibrillation
• Airway management
• Rhythm recognition
• IV/IO access
• Use of medications
• Cardioversion
• Transcutaneous pacing
• Effective resuscitation team dynamics

Certification: An American Heart Association ACLS Provider Course Completion Card, valid for a period of two years, will be issued after completing the online course and successfully completing practice skills and a skills test.

Course Length: Initial Certification - 16 hours of classroom instruction; Renewal Course - 8.5 hours

PALS

HeartCode™ PALS Part 1

Course Description:  An alternative to classroom-based PALS training, HeartCode PALS Part 1 provides computer-based lessons that uses eSimulation technology so students “virtually” assess and formulate treatment for pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest patients. Students complete 12 interactive hospital-based cases that test their ability to apply the PALS algorithms to effect treatment. Step-by-step feedback is provided through debriefing on actions taken and suggestions for improvement. This course also includes a pre-course self-assessment of ECG recognition and pharmacology knowledge. To complete the course, students must complete Part II and III skills practice and testing. Once you have finished the online portion of the course.

Target Audience: This course is designed for healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies or anyone seeking first-time or renewal credentialed PALS training.

Course Content: This course provides information on the following topics:

• Recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest

• The systematic approach to pediatric assessment

• Effective respiratory management

• Validate skills for 1- and 2-person CPR and AED skills for infant  and child

• Defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion

• Intraosseous access and fluid bolus administration

• Effective resuscitation team dynamics

During the course, an AHA PALS Instructor leads discussion around video-based lessons and simulation. Students participate in 12 core cases. An AHA PALS Instructor works with students as they complete their skills practice and skills testing. Students must also complete a written exam.

Certification: American Heart Association PALS Provider Course Completion Card valid for two years.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Classroom:

Course Description: The PALS course gives healthcare professionals the knowledge and skills to better recognize and treat critically ill infants and children. The course uses a scenario-based, team approach to teach pediatric emergency management of pediatric patients approaching or already in respiratory or cardiac arrest. Information presented covers treatment beyond the first few emergency minutes and goes through stabilizing patients or transport phases of a pediatric emergency, in or out of the hospital.

Target Audience: This course is designed for healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies or anyone seeking first-time or renewal credentialed PALS training.

Course Content: This course provides information on the following topics:
